Easy-going Halloween

This year for Halloween, I tried not to stress. We had a lot of fun at the trunk-or-treat our stake puts on every year, although it was bitterly cold with the wind blowing. Lucy didn't last long. We did our walk around, filled our Windows 7 bags with candy (I left the trick-or treating bags at home and thankfully we had the leftover bags from the party in our trunk.), and then went home to have a nice visit with Caitlin and her girls who brought us some VERY delicious, festive cupcakes. We visited for a while and then I took the two older kids to a very fun party put on by his cousin Cari and Jamie, another friend from the ward. We stayed up way too late. :) But, hey. It was Friday AND it was the day before Halloween, so what the hay. On Saturday, we slept in and ate way too much candy and I have to say it was just nice to take it easy this year. We didn't get dressed up or trick or treat at all on Saturday even though it was really Halloween. No regrets.

I wish I could be like that. I hate it when a holiday goes by and we don't do all the traditions. But I imagine there will be times that it just won't happen.
The kids look so cute in their costumes! I can't believe how grown up Matthew is getting. He sure is getting handsome! :)
