Ten years

Matthew turned ten and we all enjoyed his cake. He chose a German Chocolate Turtle Cake. It has pecans, caramel, and chocolate melted inside. A bit of work and time and super rich, but so good. As you can see, Matthew was very happy about it.

I love the part before we start singing where Tommy is trying to start the singing. I think blowing out the candles is the little kids favorite part about birthdays. Matthew is definitely not little anymore.

Matthew is joy in our home. He loves to ask how he can help. Lately he has been a huge help as a sous chef in the kitchen. He is a wonderful big brother in spite of the teasing he inflicts upon his siblings lately. He will play with the little kids for hours and is so full of love for them. He never wants to do anything wrong, which can sometimes be a bit of a disappointment to him, especially if he disappoints Mom or Dad. He is a great example to all of us. He reminds me of my brother Ben in that there is never a reason to not like anybody. He loves food and a good time. He loves spending time with his Dad. He is a very patient boy who is definitely beginning to become a young man.

I just got caught up on a bunch of your posts. Your kids are growing so much and SOOO look like yours! I can see you and your siblings in them so much. I also loved seeing some of the rest of your family on your other post. I don't think your dad has changed a bit!
Matthew looks SOOO big! I can't believe he's just two years shy of receiving the priesthood! What a beautiful family Jen. I miss you guys SOOOOOOOOOOOO much!
