Spring Break 2010

A couple of months ago I got a call from my sister Hannah inviting us to come see her compete in Junior Miss. I also had the opportunity to compete in Junior Miss quite a few years ago now, and so of course wanted to be there to support her. She did amazing! She won one of the Talent Scholarships playing an excerpt from Warsaw Concerto. Me and the rest of the Hannah supporters thought she should have won, but of course we are a little biased. We are so proud of you, Hannah!


While we were in Idaho, Matthew and Tom took advantage of Grandpa Pieper's four-wheeler. Matthew says he is going to save up to buy one because they are so fun. :) We were also able to visit with Rachel, Casey, & baby Zaya, Beck & Michael, Peter, Mary, Coyote (Sarah), and of course Grandma and Grandpa Pieper. It was a shorter visit than we anticipated, and hopefully next time we will get to spend a little more time visiting and having fun together.

From there we went north to visit Tom's parents and sister Jenn and her son Sam. Tom helped on a few projects while there, removing old siding, and starting to replace with new. Here he and his dad are replacing the front door. We had a lot of fun here as well. Thanks Jenn & Sam for taking us swimming. We had a great time! While Tom was busy helping his dad, the kids and I visited Grandma Blank, went to the park a couple of times, shopped, played games, and played in the yard (It was in the 70s while we were there!). We also took one day and traveled a couple of hours to visit Tom's other grandma. It was a very nice trip.

Thanks Mom & Dad, and Mom & Dad Loveland, for letting us come and stay!

Man I was so sad when you guys left early! Thanks again Tom for watching Zaya for us! We will definately have to see you soon. I miss you all already. Oh and Jen I will have to call you one of these days and talk with you about that makeup.

what fun! By the way, I need to raz tom for spending his spring break "working!" It sounds like he was way too busy for calling it a break! Glad you guys had so much fun, maybe next year you can drive a few more hrs to Phx! Miss you!

 It has been years since I've posted here, but am feeling the pull and the value of what this space offers. So much has happened. We've moved to Kansas and lived here for just over three years now. Tom now works for IBM. And probably two big things that I know I haven't written about here are that I have three more children. Raeni joined our family in 2020 during COVID and once we moved to Kansas and lived here for about a year and a half, we felt very strongly that we needed to get pregnant again. He is here!

Our second little man came to join us weighing 7 lbs. 3 oz. He is 20 inches long and he is a quiet little guy so far. We named him Thomas Joseph and will call him Tommy. Oh, what a sweet bundle of joy he is! So precious and innocent. I can feel that he was definitely close to our Father in Heaven not long ago. It is such a spiritual experience having a little one like this join our family here. It is such a miracle to me to see the little fingers and toes with nails and to see that he is so perfect! And I cannot describe, but I know every mother knows the feeling of when they first place a new baby in your arms and you feel so much love for them immediately. My heart feels like it could burst with happiness! Little Tommy all bundled up. Here I am looking very tired after the delivery. I feel great though! Ramblings.

I hardly know where to start. Life in the last month has been a whirlwind of change, happiness and adjusting to the change. Life is good. And truly a couple of really big things have changed in our lives. You all know about the first one, little Tommy joining our family. Definitely lots of change for us all and adjustment and happiness. The other change kind of fell into our laps and I am so happy that it did and that I was prepared a little at a time to run with it when it did. And the change is that we are now homeschooling Matthew and Jenny. I know there are many opinions out there about this. And whatever yours is, I am not trying to change it, merely give you an update on what is happening in our lives. :) Although I have to say that over the course of the last six months my opinion has changed a great deal on the subject.
