Our Halloween Tradition

When Matthew and Jenny were pretty young, my mom came to visit at Halloween and brought some Halloween-shaped cookie cutters so she could make sugar cookies with the grandkids. She left us with the cookie cutters and every year since then we make the sugar cookies and decorate them with the best Halloween colors able to be achieved with normal food coloring. The kids had no school yesterday so I thought it was the perfect time to do "the cookies."

Cutting out the cookies

Strategically placing them on the cookie sheet

Keeping the shape of the cookie intact

Frosting them her own way

Being his precise self. :)

Lucy loves frosted sugar cookies!

And it looks like Jenny does, too. Thanks for the fun day, kids!

Looks like you guys had lots of fun! I wanted to make sugar cookies too, but we don't have anyone to help us eat them. Looks like Lucy has a sweet tooth like her grandpa! First chocolate cake, now sugar cookies. :)
