A precarious crossing. Tom got some really good video footage of this. I will post that when I get to the videos.

A hiking we will go. I forgot the mention the length of this hike. It was about sixteen miles round trip. So Matthew was quite the trooper, especially considering the mosquitoes that were attacking him the whole way out despite the repellent. Jenny commented on seeing him that he must have the mosquito pox. He was covered in them. Poor kid.

I think it was a real bonding experience for Tom and Matthew. You can kind of see from this picture that they had been in some rain. Fun stuff.

IMG_3075 There were no pictures of Matthew and Tom in the hot pots, so I put in a picture of these posers. I know Matthew really enjoyed the hot pots. Another one of his highlights was the huckleberry cobbler Grandpa made from fresh huckleberries they picked there in the mountains.

Looks like a great trip! Where is this place? I'd love to go!
Taffy, it is not too far from Ashton, ID in the same general vicinity as Mesa Falls if you are familiar with that area at all. Violet might know. The trail head starts at Bechler Ranger Station. If you want more specifics, send me an email and I will try to help you out with directions, etc.

Wow what beautiful country! Love the family pictures below. I do wish we lived closer so that Lucy and Ema could play! They are about the same age.
